Imperata brasiliensis (Brazilian Satintail) is a species of perennial grass in the family True grasses. It is native to Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná, Bahia, Amapá, Mata Atlântica, Amazônia, Cerrado, São Paulo, Distrito Federal, Pampa, Rio de Janeiro, Caatinga, Goiás, Pantanal, Mato Grosso, Espirito Santo, Santa Catarina, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, and Maranhao. It is a photoautotroph.
