Leersia hexandra (Southern Cutgrass) is a species of perennial herb in the family True grasses. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Puerto Rico, The Contiguous United States, Mata AtlâNtica, Caatinga, Santa Catarina, Pantanal, GoiáS, Amapá, Rio De Janeiro, Rio Grande Do Sul, Mato Grosso Do Sul, AmazôNia, Mato Grosso, Pará, Ceará, Maranhao, Paraná, ParaíBa, Rio Grande Do Norte, Pampa, SãO Paulo, Bahia, Cerrado, Sergipe, Minas Gerais, Pernambuco, AmazôNia, and Eastern North America. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Lipotriches bigibba. Individuals can grow to 0.58 m.
