They are native to Mato Grosso, Espirito Santo, Puerto Rico, GoiáS, Roraima, Pacific Basin excluding Hawaii, Acre (Brazil), Santa Catarina, Paraná, Minas Gerais, Caatinga, Mata Atlântica, Amazônia, SãO Paulo, Ceará, U.S. Virgin Islands, Pará, Cerrado, Distrito Federal, RondôNia, Maranhao, Rio De Janeiro, Amapá, Mato Grosso Do Sul, and Bahia. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 0.077 m.
