Limnobium spongia (American Spongeplant) is a species of perennial herb in the family Hydrocharitaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to The Contiguous United States and Eastern North America. They have simple, broad leaves and white flowers. Individuals can grow to 0.5 feet.
