Alnus (Alder) is a genus of shrub in the family Betulaceae. They are native to Greenland, Western North America, Canada, The Contiguous United States, North America, Alaska, and Saint-Pierre Et Miquelon. Flowers are visited by Northern Cardinal, Hickory Tussock Moth, and American Goldfinch. Individuals can grow to 18 m.
