Acartia tonsa is a species of copepods in the family Acartiidae. They are native to Ethiopia, Pacific Ocean, Indian Ocean, Australia, and Asia. They are nocturnal herbivores. Individuals can grow to 1.5 mm. They have parental care (female provides care).
