Serpocaulon is a genus of ferns in the family Polypodiaceae, subfamily Polypodioideae, according to the Pteridophyte Phylogeny Group classification of 2016 (PPG I).[2] The genus is native to Northern and Southern America.[3]

Serpocaulon fue descrito por Alan Reid Smith y publicado en Taxon 55(4): 924–927, f. 3–4. 2006.[1] La especie tipo es: Serpocaulon loriceum (L.) A.R. Sm.
