Test large, discoidal, very thin, early stage with globular chambers in planispiral arrangement, later chambers elongate to vermiform and added irregularly in a single layer; wall calcareous, perforated by septal pores; no aperture other than the pores. Miocene to Holocene; tropical cosmopolitan. (Loeblich & Tappan, 1987, Foraminiferal Genera and Their Classification)
