Miconia matthaei is a species of tree in the family melastomes. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Minas Gerais, Distrito Federal, Acre (Brazil), Cerrado, Roraima, GoiáS, Pará, Amazônia, and Mato Grosso. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 8 m.
