Description

Erect perennial to c. 1 m. Leaves opposite, simple, sessile or almost so, narrowly oblong to ovate, glabrous with scabrid margins; base cordate, ± auriculate. Inflorescence a cyme with heads terminal on the branches. Florets bright orange-red. Pappus of rigid bristles, these 6-9 mm, straight or with hooked apices, laterally winged below.
