MATERIAL EXAMINED.—KYUSHU: W of Goto Islands, 32°36.7′N, 127°42.8′E, 145 m, 17 Jun 1964 (l).

DISTRIBUTION.—The Straits of Malacca is the southernmost record for this species, but it is more commonly found around the southern half of Japan and along the Korean coast. It has been taken at night in pelagic tow-nets and as deep as 160 meters in Sagami Bay. It has not been taken in benthic littoral collections except for one record of 4 meters listed by Utinomi (Utinomi, 1971a:323).
