Porophyllum crassifolium S. Wats. Proc. Am. Acad. 24: 57 1889.
A low undershrub; stem much branched, with terete spreading branches; leaves linear, fleshy, acute at each end, sessile, gland-tipped, 0.5-2.5 cm. long; heads solitary at the ends of the branches; peduncles about 1 cm. long; involucre broadly campanulate, 7-8 mm. high; bracts 5-8, oval, obtuse, with oval or rounded glands, rounded on the back; corollas 7 mm. long, yellow; tube much shorter than the cylindraceous throat; lobes ovate; achenes 3 mm. long, sparingly puberulent or glabrate; pappus tawny, 7 mm. long; bristles hispidulous.
Type localit: Muleje, Lower California.
Dis-TRiBUTiON : Coast and islands of Lower California.
