Banisteriopsis speciosa Small, sp. nov Leaf-blades oval to ovate, 4.5-12 cm. long, abruptly short-acuminate, yellowish-green, reticulate on both sides, glabrous or with scattered hairs beneath, much paler beneath than above, abruptly narrowed or rounded at the base, short-petioled ; sepals ovate or orbicularovate, 4-5 mm. long, glabrous, the glands one half the length of the sepal-body or less, longitudinally grooved on the back ; larger petals 11-12 mm. long, the blades suborbicular, lacerate-denticulate ; samaras not seen.
Type collected at Coban, Guatemala, May, 1907, H. von Turckheim II. 17S5 (herb. John Donnell Smith).
Distribution : Known only from the type locality.
