Small tree, 8-9 m. tall, glabrous throughout; leaves firmly membranaceous, oblongelliptic to obovate-elliptic, 8-12 cm. long, 2-2.5 cm. broad, abruptly and narrowly subcaudateacuminate, acutely cuneate at the base, the petioles 2-4 mm. long; inflorescence bearing 1 or 2 showy yellowish flowers; pedicels 5-6 mm. long; calyx-lobes ovate-lanceolate, acute to acuminate, 4-6 mm. long; corolla infundibuliform, the tube proper 15-17 mm. long, about 2.5 mm. in diameter at the base, the throat very narrowly conic, gradually dilated to the orifice, 40-45 mm. long, about 7-8 mm. in diameter at the orifice, the lobes obliquely obovate, 40-42.5 mm. long, spreading; follicles unknown.
Type locality: Kankintoe, Bocas del Tore, Panama. Distribution: Known only from the type locality.

Shrub or small tree, essentially glabrous throughout; leaves firmly membranaceous, oval to obovate-elliptic, 12-16 cm. long, 4-5 cm. broad, acuminate to obtusish, rather broadly cuneate at the base, the petioles 1-3 mm. long; inflorescence bearing 2 or 3 rather showy yellowish flowers; pedicels 4-8 mm. long; calyx-lobes rather narrowly lanceolate, acute to obtusish, scarious or oifly slightly foliaceous, 15-20 mm. long; corolla salverform, the tube 20-
25 mm. long, about 3.5 mm. in diameter at the base, the lobes obliquely obovate, 10-15 mm. long, somewhat reflexed; follicles unknown.
Type locality: Talamanca Mountains, Costa Rica. Distribution: Known only from the type locality.
