Brief Summary

provided by EOL authors

All three species of Tibicinoides (T. cupreosparsa, T. mercedita, and T. minuta) are known only from California (U.S.A.). All three are associated with the California upland forests and woodlands habitat and their distributions coincide with this floristic region. All species may be associated with grasses, but Tibicinoides minuta has associated with tarweed (probably Holocarpha virgata (A. Gray) D.D. Keck). Tibicinoides cupreosparsa with tufted grasses (probably Poa spp.). (Sanborn & Phillips 2013)
