Body is transparent, with scattered red spots.
Differs from similar species Pseudomma roseum by shape of the back edge of the telson, length of the scaphocerite, and color.
Occurs in the Barents, White, Kara and Bering Seas.
Bathypelagic species.
Eyes lack ommatidia and pigment, are fused together to form a wide plate with a rounded front edge. The length of scaphocerite of the antennae exceeds its width by 3; the length of the smooth outer edge (up to the spikе) makes up approximately 3/4 of the total length of the scaphocerite. The telson has a triangular shape with a dull end; its sides carry 8 small spines each, the back edge carries 4 long spines and 2 long setae in the middle. Pleopods of the males are biramous, of the swimming type. Body is clear, with scattered red spots.
