PREVIOUSLY RECORDED DISTRIBUTION.—Cuba; Isla de Pinos; Hispaniola; Puerto Rico; St. Thomas; Guadeloupe; Grenada; South America; Central America; Mexico; United States (Blackwelder, 1945, p. 400).
DOMINICAN DISTRIBUTION.—Clarke Hall, 4 July 1964, T. J. Spilman; Clarke Hall, 6–8 October 1964, P. J. Spangler.
BIOLOGY.—Fisher (1950, p. 103) summarized the biology of this species: adults boring into living trunks and branches of Metopium toxiferum (L.) Krug and Urban (=Rhus metopium L.); larvae and adults in half-burned roots of Smilax; adults in pruned and girdled branches of avocado and guayaba; adults in derris roots. Some of the Dominican specimens were captured at light. The immature stages have not been described.
