In the afternoon 2 females and 1 male were hiding in the tower at the the top of the peak of Wehlaberg; this hill is in the middle of an old pine forest (
Pinus sylvestris) with lots of dead trunks (vertical, 2-3m) ...This rare - in many regions yet extinct - longhorn beetle is up to 50mm long! The larvae need 3-4 years to develop and this only in old and "untidy" pine forests (
Pinus, Abies, Picea, Larix)PLEASE DO NOT COLLECT!
