Acetobacteraceae is a family of gram-negative bacteria. The type genus is Acetobacter.[2] Ten genera from Acetobacteraceae make up the acetic acid bacteria.[3]

History

Acetobacteraceae was proposed as a family for Acetobacter and Gluconobacter based on rRNA and DNA–DNA hybridization comparisons in 1980.[4]
