They are native to Mato Grosso Do Sul, Puerto Rico, Sergipe, Caatinga, Rio Grande Do Sul, RondôNia, The Contiguous United States, U.S. Virgin Islands, Pernambuco, Rio De Janeiro, AmazôNia, SãO Paulo, Santa Catarina, Piauí, Espirito Santo, Mato Grosso, Amapá, Bahia, Alagoas, Roraima, ParaíBa, Acre (Brazil), Paraná, GoiáS, Distrito Federal, Tocantins, Maranhao, Cerrado, Minas Gerais, Pará, Ceará, Mata AtlâNtica, and Rio Grande Do Norte. They have compound, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 1.5 m.
