Macroptilium atropurpureum (Siratro) is a species of shrub in the family Fabaceae. They are climbers. They are native to Puerto Rico and The Contiguous United States. They have compound, compound leaves and purple flowers. Flowers are visited by Typical Orchid Bees, Cassius Blue, bees, and Chioides albofasciatus. Individuals can grow to 4 feet.
