Potentilla recta (Sulphur Cinquefoil) is a species of perennial herb in the family Rosaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Halictus tripartitus Cockerell 1895, Red-belted Bumble Bee, Lasioglossum sisymbrii (Cockerell 1895), and Ceratina nanula Cockerell 1897. Individuals can grow to 0.38 m.
