Spiraea tomentosa (Hardhack) is a species of shrub in the family Rosaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Canada, The Contiguous United States, and North America. They have simple, simple leaves and purple flowers. Flowers are visited by Meliscaeva cinctella and Bombus ternarius. Individuals can grow to 1.7 m.
