Lindera benzoin is a species of tree in the family Lauraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Canada, The Contiguous United States, North America, and Eastern North America. They have simple, broad leaves and white flowers. Flowers are visited by Prenolepis imparis, Dolerus unicolor, Winter Firefly, and Ant-like longhorn beetle. Individuals can grow to 3.7 m.
