Nectandra membranacea (Sweetwood) is a species of tree in the family Lauraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, GoiáS, SãO Paulo, Rio De Janeiro, Tocantins, Santa Catarina, RondôNia, Bahia, Caatinga, Espirito Santo, Acre (Brazil), AmazôNia, Mata AtlâNtica, Cerrado, Paraná, and Minas Gerais. They have simple, simple leaves. Individuals can grow to 35 m.
