Berberis thunbergii (Japanese Barberry) is a species of shrub in the family Berberidaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Japan. They have simple, broad leaves, yellow flowers, and berry. Flowers are visited by Two-spotted Bumblebee, Common Eastern Bumblebee, Honey bee, and Yellow-banded Bumblebee. Individuals can grow to 6 feet.
