Myrica gale (Sweetgale) is a species of shrub in the family Myricaceae. It has a self-supporting growth form. It is native to Saint-Pierre et Miquelon, Canada, the contiguous United States, Alaska, eastern north america, and North America. Sweetgale has simple, broad leaves and blue flowers. Flowers are visited by Pearl Crescent. Sweetgale fixes nitrogen. It is a photoautotroph. Individuals can grow to 7 feet.
