This is a drought tolerant flower that has a long flowering season. They have yellow flowers that grows 10 to 30 inches tall. The leaves are basal rosette of 1 to 4 inches long, pinnate and hairy. The desert marigold grows in sandy or gravelly soils on roadsides, plains, wahses, mesas, and pinyon-juniper communities. They can be found between 100 to 6500 feet in elevation.
