Byrsonima crassifolia (Maricao Cimun) is a species of tree in the family Malpighiaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to RondôNia, SãO Paulo, Mato Grosso, Pernambuco, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Roraima, Caatinga, Pará, Bahia, Minas Gerais, Amapá, AmazôNia, Cerrado, Espirito Santo, AmazôNia, GoiáS, Piauí, Distrito Federal, Ceará, ParaíBa, Pantanal, Mata AtlâNtica, Puerto Rico, Rio Grande Do Norte, Tocantins, and Maranhao. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Centris varia, Exomalopsis, Brachygastra smithii, and Oil-collecting bee. Individuals can grow to 13.8 m.
