Muntingia calabura (Strawberrytree) is a species of tree in the family Muntingiaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Amazônia, RondôNia, Acre (Brazil), and The Neotropics. They have simple, broad leaves and loculicidal capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by Braunsapis hewitti, Scaptotrigona pectoralis, and Trigona fulviventris. Individuals can grow to 12 m.
