Malvastrum americanum (Indian Valley False Mallow) is a species of shrub in the family Malvaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to SãO Paulo, Espirito Santo, Mato Grosso Do Sul, The Contiguous United States, Puerto Rico, Bahia, Cerrado, Minas Gerais, Mata AtlâNtica, Sergipe, Rio De Janeiro, and U.S. Virgin Islands. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Heliopetes macaira, Heliopetes laviana, Heliopetes arsalte, and Urbanus dorantes dorantes. Individuals can grow to 0.5 m.
