Momordica charantia (Balsampear) is a species of annual herb in the family Cucurbitaceae. They are climbers. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Augochlorella aurata (Smith 1853), Flat-tailed Leaf-cutter Bee, Great Southern White, and Clouded Skipper. Individuals can grow to 1.2 m.
