Ribes sanguineum (Red Flowering Currant) is a species of shrub in the family gooseberries. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to The Contiguous United States and Canada. They have simple, broad leaves and red flowers. Flowers are visited by Andrena hemileuca Viereck 1904, Battus philenor ssp. hirsuta (Skinner 1908), Anna's Hummingbird, and Buff-tailed bumblebee. Individuals can grow to 12 feet.
