Acer platanoides (Norway Maple) is a species of tree in the family Sapindaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Norway, Yugoslavia, France, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Belarus, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Greece, Russia, Romania, Hungary, Estonia, Kyrgyzstan, Albania, Poland, Georgia, Czech Republic, Finland, Afghanistan, Belgium, Austria, Azerbaijan, Iran, Eastern North America, Tajikistan, Armenia, Lithuania, Germany, and Latvia. They have simple, broad leaves and green flowers. Flowers are visited by Leaf-cutter and Resin Bees, Cheilosia variabilis, digger bees, and Eupeodes luniger. Individuals can grow to 20 m.
