Oenothera pycnocarpa (Common Evening Primrose) is a species of biennial herb in the family Onagraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Canada and The Contiguous United States. They have simple, simple leaves and yellow flowers. Flowers are visited by Schinia florida, Anise Swallowtail, Leaf-cutter and Resin Bees, and Trineura. Individuals can grow to 5 feet.
