Elaeagnus angustifolia (Russian Olive) is a species of tree in the family Elaeagnaceae. It has a self-supporting growth form. It is native to North America, United States, Armenia, Russia, Moldova, Azerbaijan, China, Belarus, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Iran, Tajikistan, and India. Russian Olive has simple, broad leaves and yellow flowers. Flowers are visited by Red Admiral. Russian Olive fixes nitrogen. It is a photoautotroph.
