Ceanothus americanus (New Jersey Tea) is a species of shrub in the family Rhamnaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to United States, North America, The Americas, The Contiguous United States, Canada, and Eastern North America. They have simple, broad leaves, blue flowers, and capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by Telephorus, Strangalepta abbreviata, Mottled Duskywing, and Trichiotinus affinis. Individuals can grow to 0.96 m.
