Asclepias curassavica (Bloodflower) is a species of shrub in the family Apocynaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Santa Catarina, Rio De Janeiro, Espirito Santo, Minas Gerais, Pernambuco, Caatinga, Acre (Brazil), Mato Grosso, Cerrado, Alagoas, Mata Atlântica, Pantanal, Ceará, Sergipe, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Maranhao, Amapá, Distrito Federal, SãO Paulo, GoiáS, Paraná, Rio Grande Do Sul, Bahia, Piauí, Rio Grande Do Norte, Amazônia, Pampa, and Pará. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Monarch, Julia Heliconian, Asian hornet, and Telegonus cellus. Individuals can grow to 0.4 m.
