Cynoglossum officinale (Gypsyflower) is a species of biennial herb in the family Boraginaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Hungary, Latvia, Germany, Finland, Lithuania, Armenia, Estonia, Spain, Albania, France, Romania, Turkey, Ukraine, Belarus, The Netherlands, Czech Republic, Azerbaijan, Ireland, Denmark, Austria, United Kingdom, Yugoslavia, Sweden, Belgium, Norway, Russia, Iran, Italy, Greece, Poland, and Switzerland. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Thrips, Monarch, Texas Agapostemon, and Odontalictus. Individuals can grow to 0.54 m.
