Hyparrhenia bracteata is a species of perennial herb in the family True grasses. It has a self-supporting growth form. It is native to Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Goiás, Mata Atlântica, São Paulo, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, Pantanal, Distrito Federal, and Cerrado. Hyparrhenia bracteata has simple, broad leaves. It is a photoautotroph. Individuals can grow to 2.5 m.
