Banara guianensis is a species of shrub in the family Salicaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Mato Grosso, Maranhao, Ceará, Mata AtlâNtica, AmazôNia, Alagoas, Roraima, Pernambuco, Espirito Santo, Pará, Cerrado, Amapá, Bahia, Rio De Janeiro, RondôNia, AmazôNia, and Acre (Brazil). They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 15 m.
