It is native to Minas Gerais, Mata Atlântica, Bahia, Pampa, Cerrado, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and the Neotropics. Brazilian Peppertree has compound, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Monarch. Brazilian Peppertree is a photoautotroph. Reproduction is dioecious.
