They are native to Maranhao, Mato Grosso, Mata Atlântica, Pará, Alagoas, Amapá, Espirito Santo, Sergipe, Cerrado, Tocantins, Acre (Brazil), Minas Gerais, Rio Grande Do Norte, Piauí, AmazôNia, ParaíBa, RondôNia, Roraima, Ceará, Pernambuco, Caatinga, Distrito Federal, The Neotropics, Rio De Janeiro, GoiáS, and Bahia. They have compound, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 27 m.
