    Die Chilenische Guave (Ugni molinae, Syn.: Myrtus ugni Mol., Eugenia ugni (Mol.) Hooker et Arnott, Ugni poeppigii Berg, U. philipii Berg; U. ugni (Mol.) Macloskie, U. myrtus Macloskie) ist eine Pflanzenart aus der Familie der Myrtengewächse (Myrtaceae). In der Mapuche Sprache wird sie Uñi und im Spanischen murta oder murtilla genannt. Sie ist nur entfernt mit den Guaven verwandt.

Le goyavier du Chili (Ugni molinae) est un arbuste fruitier (1,80 m) de la famille des myrtacées, endémique et natif du Chili. Son nom vernaculaire espagnol est murta ou murtilla. Le fruit au goût de fraise des bois est utilisé pour la production de l'arôme de fraise.

    Il a été nommé en hommage à Juan Ignacio Molina. C'était un des fruits préférés de la reine Victoria.

    Ugni molinae, commonly known as Chilean guava, or strawberry myrtle, is a shrub native to Chile and adjacent regions of southern Argentina. The local Spanish name is murta, and the Mapuche Native American name is "Uñi" or Uñiberry. It is in the same botanical family as the guava.

    The fruit is sometimes marketed as "Ugniberry", as "New Zealand cranberry" in New Zealand, and the name "Tazziberry" has been trademarked in Australia, but it is not a native plant to these countries.
