They are native to AmazôNia, Mata AtlâNtica, Acre (Brazil), Pará, Minas Gerais, SãO Paulo, Maranhao, Ceará, GoiáS, Espirito Santo, Tocantins, RondôNia, Amapá, Roraima, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Cerrado, Alagoas, Paraná, and Mato Grosso. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 6 m.
