Silphium laciniatum (Compassplant) is a species of perennial herb in the family Asteraceae. They are native to Canada, The Contiguous United States, Eastern North America, and North America. Flowers are visited by Hibiscus Turret Bee, Brown-belted Bumblebee, Wheat Stem Maggot, and Bibio pallipes.
