Silphium perfoliatum (Cup Plant) is a species of perennial herb in the family Asteraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to The Contiguous United States, Canada, and North America. They have simple, broad leaves and yellow flowers. Flowers are visited by Eastern Giant Swallowtail, Pseudopanurgus rugosus, Silver-spotted Skipper, and Danaus plexippus. Individuals can grow to 6 feet.
