Tagetes erecta (Aztec marigold) is a herbaceous species of plants in the family Asteraceae, with a self-supporting growth habit. It has simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Anthanassa texana, Guava Skipper, Achlyodes pallida Felder 1869, and Euphoria basalis (Gory & Percheron 1833). It is a photoautotroph.
