Physalis pubescens is a species of annual herb in the family nightshades. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to GoiáS, Rio De Janeiro, Espirito Santo, Cerrado, Tocantins, Santa Catarina, Caatinga, Mato Grosso, Minas Gerais, Distrito Federal, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Ceará, AmazôNia, ParaíBa, The Contiguous United States, Paraná, Rio Grande Do Sul, Bahia, Acre (Brazil), RondôNia, U.S. Virgin Islands, Pernambuco, Mata AtlâNtica, SãO Paulo, Alagoas, and Puerto Rico. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Xylocopa darwini and Large Carpenter Bees.
