Amorpha fruticosa (Desert False Indigo) is a species of shrub in the family Fabaceae. It has a self-supporting growth form. It is native to the contiguous United States, Canada, North America, and eastern north america. Desert False Indigo has compound, broad leaves and purple flowers. Flowers are visited by Cassius Blue. Desert False Indigo fixes nitrogen. It is a photoautotroph.
